My thesis explores a new way of Human Computer Interaction with an emphasis on touch and embodied interaction. Instead of thinking of traditional screen-based in- terface or graphic-user interface as the only platform for conducting gestural inter- action, what I am proposing is using our body as the interface to design a spatial in- teracting experience.
When currently technology deals with more personal information with the user, how to make HCI more intimate and accessible? How to make the experience become more human-oriented rather then object-oriented?
My thesis aims at raising the concern how user cognition is grounded in HCI, which is deeply constrained by the bodily nature of cognitive agency, and encourages de- signers and engineers in HCI to consider the importance of bodily experience and movement in design.
